RE: Do you love to show your muscle?
muscles are a must for all my shapeshifting characters. male or female, since it kinda gives the impression of power. massive ones on males and slight and sculped ones on females.
i just can't tahan those aneroxic girls. they look like living crospes. literally a bag of bones!
*cough, cough... retch!!!

and also, i'm sure not many people know that big and beefy does not mean slow and stiff. on the contary, olympic weight lifters can auctually outrun 100m sprinters over a short distance. just like how bears could outrun racing horses!
and as far as flexibility goes, take a look at flex wheeler. freak of a beefcake, and he went down on an almost full split in his bodybuilding pose!

RE: Do you love to show your muscle?
First we consider the basic rules ...

more weight = slower acceleration
slower acceleration = less agility

then we have to remember

muscles = weight

though we can consider ...

more weight + more power = normal acceleration

but human muscles are not the most efficient, with the same amount of muscle tissue, a crocodile can overpower any human.
Sure the weight lifters can outrun sprinters in a short distance, but how long or often can they do it? Unable to maintain agility, voids the whole point of being agile.
Then we have yet to consider the amount of heat the additional muscles would generate in motion.

Flexibility is not affected much by muscular mass, but more on the flexibility of ligaments and joints. This requires slow and repeated stretches in order for it to be as flexible as a gymnast's. Something most body builders don't have the time to do.

Ack ... maths x_X

RE: Do you love to show your muscle?
For someone who are pretty muscle-bound, they can move at quite a high speed. But the drawback is for a short amount of time. What they use in speed is in strength, not the agility that they gain, they lack the long-term endurance to maintain the speed. And flexibility is quite common, as muscles just play a part of the role, joints and ligaments do too, like what Canis Enigmas said before. And that requires daily stretching in order to do it.

Oh well... *goes back to studying on mechanics of muscle once more*

RE: Do you love to show your muscle?
I'm not really into being muscled or anything. I prefer to maintain a toned form, one that is not overly muscular but not one that is like a stick either. Maintaining the right balance of muscle and fat is more essential to me rather than gaining the most amount of bulk that my body can eke out.

Besides... Thoroughbreds weren't really made to be stocky breeds anyway. If I wanted to be stocky, I'd be a Clydesdale. ;-)

Hollud. Simply, horse.
