RE: Guardians of Gahoole
I watched it with a certain dragonboy yesterday. It was awesome indeed.
The story may be a little straightforward and predictable, but the graphics and animations just kept my jaw open.

And yeah, I've got asshole friends too who said the movie was definitely gonna end up crappy after watching the trailer which to them, didn't explain one bit about the story. Still, I was proven wrong when I watched it. Amazing stuff!

THEY'RE SO FLUFFY.

I'll agree that the story is simple, but that doesn't stop it from being enjoyable. :3

The visuals are simply stunning! Not to mention the feathers. @ @

RE: Guardians of Gahoole
>> Had to restrain myself from being annoyed at the bad biology bits a la Happy Feet (eyes rolling around, lip-beaks, owls being not-retarded fliers, etc.) and questionable use of certain songs (you know which one!) but man, the whole thing was both pretty and INTENSE.

I hadn't had a gander at the novels, so I'm out of the loop about people complaining about the butchered story. (Kludd was Metalbeak? GHAW.) It did feel like they painfully tried to cram three books in there by trimming all sorts of things and leaving holes. ...But damn if that wasn't a lovingly-made pretty piece of visual cake. No gaudy CGI Technicolour Texture Fill Tool vomit in sight!

"But Niiiiiiiight, gizzards don't work that wa-" F*** OFF THEY'RE FLYING RAZORBLADES WITH HELMETS.

I KNEW IT, BARN OWLS ARE NAZIS

Bah! I got headache after watching it in 3D. It was stunning graphic but the slow-mo ruins the movie...

RE: Guardians of Gahoole
I saw the 3C version, and it's simply stunning. The details of the flights and combat were superb. Even the simple thing as a feather falling off, the detail and realism portrayed in the movie was great. Favorite scene was the spiral of water. Screw that flame version of it; the detail of the scene alone was enough to convince me this was well-made.
Storyline itself gets a nod of approval. Well, I expect a sequel in itself to this since this is a adaptation of a novel.
In any case, being a fur takes a back seat in anything when I judge something so I hope this rave of mine felt unbiased.
